Every once in a while, I finish a book and immediately know it is going to stay with me. Mayluna was one of those books. The story follows Evie as events in the present bring pieces of her past back into her life, revealing a heartfelt love story filled with music, hope, heartbreak, and the moments that quietly shape a lifetime. Before I knew it, I was completely invested in the characters and did not want to put it down.
One of my favorite things about Mayluna is the way the story moves between the present and the past. This type of storytelling, called a dual timeline, slowly reveals the characters' journey without ever feeling confusing. I never try to guess where a story is going. I just enjoy it as it unfolds, and this book completely pulled me in from beginning to end. When I finished, I was genuinely sad it was over, and that is usually how I know I have found a great book.
This book had everything I love in a story. A memorable love story, characters I truly cared about, and a story that stayed with me long after I turned the last page. If you enjoy emotional fiction with unforgettable characters and a beautifully woven dual timeline, I highly recommend adding Mayluna to your reading list.
